Overseas Training Project | Japan Association of National University Libraries

Overview

The Japan Association of National University Libraries (JANUL) dispatches a few of its member librarians abroad every year. This project aims to foster librarians who acquire global awareness and management skills. To achieve this, the project expects dispatched librarians to:

research advanced activities or cases at libraries and consider how to develop a scholarly environment in Japan
attend international conferences and speak on the situation of Japan

Grant Amount

Long-term (2 weeks or more)	600,000 yen / person
Short-term (about 1 week)	300,000 yen / person

Schedule

November to March	Application period Before application, applicants need to fill in the application form and make tentative appointments with organizations or people to be visited.
March to May	Selection process Review and selection by the JANUL committee
June to the next March (the end of the fiscal year)	Start of grant Passage (research or attend conferences) Submission of a report to the JANUL office Submission of an article to the Journal of College and University Libraries Presentation at the annual general meeting of JANUL
