Analyzing its 1997 subscription list, the University of Wisconsin found that the most expensive journals in Physics tended to be those published by commercial publishers. This table presents the 25 most expensive Physics journals in the Wisconsin subscription list, all of which recorded costs of between 15 and 27 cents per 1000 characters, a standard measure of cost for journals. 21 out of 25 of the journals were published by commercial publishers.
